With the increasing number of Teslas on the road— especially here in Chicago— protecting your vehicle’s exterior has never been more important. To preserve both the value and pristine appearance of your Tesla, a self-healing Paint Protection Film (PPF) is the ideal solution.
SkinzTek specializes in PPF, offering high-gloss, clear urethane films—commonly known as clear bras—that provide a durable shield against scratches, chips, and environmental hazards. These films are virtually invisible and maintain the sleek look of your Tesla, while also offering unmatched protection.
Our certified installation team at SkinzTek has extensive experience working specifically with Tesla vehicles, ensuring that your car receives the meticulous care and precision it deserves. We understand the unique challenges Tesla owners face, from road debris to urban parking hazards, and our PPF solutions are designed to address these concerns.
By choosing SkinzTek’s PPF services, you’re making a smart investment in the long-term protection of your Tesla. Our PPF not only preserves the vehicle’s showroom-quality finish, it also helps maintain its resale value, giving you peace of mind every time you hit the road.
Paint Protection Film (PPF) offers a robust, nearly invisible layer that protects your vehicle’s paint from everyday hazards like rocks, road debris, and insect splatter. This durable shield prevents chips, scratches, and other surface damage, ensuring that your car’s exterior remains in top condition no matter where you drive. By applying PPF, you safeguard your vehicle’s paint against the wear and tear of daily use, allowing it to stay flawless and well-preserved for years to come.
One of the most impressive features of Paint Protection Film (PPF) is its self-healing technology. Minor scratches, swirl marks, and scuffs vanish when exposed to heat, such as sunlight or warm water, keeping your car’s finish smooth and pristine. This means you won’t need to worry about constant touch-ups or detailing, as the film continuously works to maintain your vehicle’s like-new appearance. With PPF, your car stays looking as fresh as the day you bought it, even after years of exposure to everyday elements.
By applying Paint Protection Film (PPF) to your vehicle, you extend the lifespan of its paint and preserve its original luster. This not only keeps your car looking newer for longer but also increases its resale value. A vehicle with well-maintained paint is more attractive to potential buyers, who are often willing to pay a premium for a car that looks flawless. Investing in PPF is a smart decision that ensures your vehicle remains in excellent condition, both in appearance and value, over the long term.

At SkinzTek, we always utilize industry-leading products. For PPF we offer 3MTM Paint Protection Film which is designed to last 10 years with proper maintenance. After film installation, wait 1 week before washing or waxing your vehicle to help ensure proper adhesion of the film. Remove tree sap, bird droppings, tar, and oils as soon as possible to avoid staining. Use waxes that do not contain dyes, abrasive polishes and/or rubbing compounds. After waxing, you can remove any wax build-up along film edges with a lint-free cloth.
The PPF protection package you choose will dictate how long we need to keep your vehicle (i.e., 1-2 days for Partial Front, 2-3 days for Full Front, 2-4 days for Track Package, and 5-7 days for Full Wrap). First, we will wash all surfaces to remove contamination and for better adhesion. Cleaning includes: (1) Hand wash/Clay bar, (2) Hand Wash/Dry, and (3) Degrease. Next, we will remove any emblems (if applicable) to ensure a better-quality install. Following the installation of the PPF, we thoroughly post heat the edges. Lastly, we reassemble (if applicable) and clean it again to ensure it looks brand new!
PPF keeps your vehicle looking newer longer. It is a sacrificial layer that protects your paint against chips, scratches, stains, and the elements. PPF provides virtually invisible protection, keeping the look and color of your vehicle intact.
3MTM Paint Protection Films offer a 10-year warranty against yellowing, bubbling, or cracking. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by misuse, accident, or ordinary wear (including debris build up on exposed edges/seams), nor does it apply to dents caused by physical impact of rocks or road debris.
After the PPF installation, you should register your installation online to validate your warranty. We recommend also keeping the warranty card provided in the glove box with your manufacturer’s vehicle operation manual.
To decrease the likelihood of debris build up on exposed edges/seams, we recommend ceramic coating the PPF. We also offer a complimentary 2-week check-up where we will review all edges and corners of the film, and trim edges if needed.
It is best to wait at least 7 days before washing your newly installed PPF. To ensure your PPF performs as long as possible, make sure to wipe off any fuel spills immediately. When possible, it is always best to hand wash your vehicle. If you must send it through the car wash, choose a touchless option. Soften difficult contaminants, like tree sap, by soaking them for several minutes with hot, soapy water. Then, rinse thoroughly and dry. Do not use rough scrubbing or abrasive tools that will scratch the film. If possible, store your vehicle indoors, in a shaded area, or under a cover whenever possible.
